The requirements are simple if you are outgoing, friendly, love people, and have at least 2 hours a day to donate. We would love to have you. WTG you two I just know you will make the league proud. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tourney News Golf Solitaire The scoring on Golf Solitaire can be a little crazy. Don’t assume that because you don’t see your opponent’s score you won. The leader board does not hold a lot of scores. So say you had a -1 and all other scores on the leader boad were in double digit numbers -12 and above. Your score would be the last on the leader board as a -1, but the players with numbers between -12 and -1 would not show because they would not fit. So if you don’t see your partner on the leader board please give your score and your token count in case of ties. If I had a -5 I would state -5/875. One more thing about Golf Solitaire. If for some reason you get booted during the game and you come back and have an asterisk by your name, you will be disqualified and your opponent will get the win. Usually if you come back before the round is over you will not get the asterisk. If that be the case, you are not disqualified. We do this to make it a fair playing field. Those of you who play this game know that some hands in golf are nice and some are really bad. Your opponent could be having a few bad hands and you come in on the third hand and beat them. This is not fair because you could have also had a bad hand the first two. So we decided that if you have an asterisk next to your name you opponent wins. If your have any questions or concerns about this please ask Coco or I. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- GAME ROOMS We have several rooms that we use that have been labeled by cases as teen room. Because they are teen rooms, I feel that we have in some ways invaded their space. However ...because there aren’t enough rooms in the upper age groups we have no choice but to use these rooms. Since we do use them, I do feel very strongly that we need to act appropriately in these rooms. Anytime before 11 p.m. we really need to tone down the type of conversations that go on. I want you all to have fun but don’t feel its right to do this in a teens gaming room. In addition, we have some staff and members who have kids that come into the room at times. I have talked with staff and asked them to be aware of what is going on in the chat in their tourneys. If it gets to be too much then it is up to the host to ask peeps to not be talking about that in the game room. If a host PC’s you, please go into pc with them. If you refuse, the host will have to ask you to stop in main chat. I have seen a host ask this and was told to mute me if you don’t want to see me do this. Please remember if you are in a tourney, you are representing our league and I will not tolerate members or staff being rude or mean to each other in main chat. Comments or disrespect like that could get you boxed for a day or more and even worse if it continues. In other game rooms, Coco and I want you to also adhere to the rules of cases as far as language is concerned. In the late night games after 11 p.m., you can let your hair down some especially if it is just league members in the room. However, please be respectful of non-league members in any given room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- LADDERING For those of you who aren’t aware, you can play games against each other while not in a tourney, and have it be counted as moving up the rank on our league ladder!!!!! Here is how it works Say we are playing in my One Armed Bandit, Bugsy and Zackers are out in second round. Bugsy can say, "Hey Zackers would you like to ladder the next game with me." Zackers says, "Sure let’s do it." This way they can stay in the game room and have fun with all of us and be playing towards new stats. Or, at any time there isn’t a tourney, you can play any if the games we play in the league, and report it to our ladder as a match played. On our main league page, you will see a link saying “Report Loss”. So if you play a ladder match against someone, the loser would click on that link and put in your name, password and your opponent’s name that you lost against, and then Submit Loss. There is no limit to how many games you can play, but there is a time limit till you can report the next loss. You must have at least 10 minutes between games before reporting again. Even if the other person loses the next game, and they have to report, it will only accept the report after 10 minutes have passed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECIAL CORNER Please remember the following in your thoughts and prayers. WOW !!!!! What else can I say? Coco has been hosting StayinAlives second Survivor Series. WOW!!!!!!!! Great job Coco!!!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!!! and great turnout StayinAlive peeps. We have had the best ever turnout for Survivor 2, even surpassing the first record setting Survivor Series. We had 33 peeps sign up and play Survivor and its been fun, exciting and interesting. The two teems that have been competing are Marooned Monkeys and the StayinAlive Warriors. There are 19 of us left on the island. Some have been stolen, some have been bamboozled, some have been eliminated, and some have been brought back. You never know what Coco has in store for us next. We have played in all types of games with different formats like Baseball Bowling, One-Armed Bandit, Backwards Bowling, as well as doubles. We will be having another Survivor when this one is finished so be on the look out for the information. I want to say thank you to Coco for all the hard work that he has put into developing and hosting the Survivor Series. He has put hours and hours of work into this behind the scenes. So thank you Coco and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. WOOT!!!! NORTH......Gel/Crusher The tournament of Champions winner..Sept....Cin FANTASTIC JOB ALL OF YOU!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- JAVA and POGO FIXES ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Often after pogo makes changes on badge day, if you get an error, go to your tools on your internet page, click on internet options, clear all temp files, then close out ALL internet windows!!!!! Make sure you close them all out …then re-open your internet browser, and try going back into the room. Next time you get an applet error or something similar, try this first, then try the below instructions if that does not work. If you are having trouble with pogo freezes it could be because Pogo has made changes, or even because your Java files have become corrupted. Below you will find instructions on how to fix those issues. Go to your START button, click it and then click on CONTROL PANEL Now click on ADD/REMOVE programs. Search thru the list of programs you have listed in there, until you find java programs. Delete ALL instances of it that you have shown in there. Make sure that you have all your windows closed before doing this. Once you have deleted all instances of Java, go to www.java.com and click to download Java. It will re-install on your computer and after that you should be ok in pogo again. You might just want to do this ever so often, as files in Java become corrupted for many reasons. If you ever forget how to do this just email me and I will send you the instructions. Hope this helps you all!!!!! And also, make sure to delete all temp files at least once a week, close out all internet windows after doing this, and re-open them.
